Tough Loss Ends the Saints Season

The Mercyhurst North East Saints men's basketball season ended this week with a 71-59 loss to Genesee CC. The Saints finished the season with an 11-16 record.

Freshman Tyler Williams led the Saints in scoring this season with 13.5 a game, he looks to build on a successful first season as a college basketball player.

Sharpshooter Mario Antenor turned in a successful season as well, averaging 11 points a game to go along with five rebounds. Antenor closed the season shooting 41.4 percent from beyond the arc.

Sophomore Tahjmere Jones turned in a very impressive sophomore campaign for the Saints. The Erie, PA native averaged 11.2 points, 2.9 steals per game. Jones finished top 10 nationally in steals per game.

The Saints averaged 78.4 points a game and had impressive victories over Lakeland CC in November and Nassau CC in December.

After getting off to an 8-3 start, the Saints were hit by the injury bug and struggled down the stretch against some of the nation's top teams.

Coach Pullium will have the 2019/2020 Saints ready to go next October.
