Saints Alumni Update
Just a quick update on some Saints alumni that are playing at the next level today
Cam Balego (Chicago Cubs Organization)
Balego was a Saint in 2014, before traveling up I-90 to continue his career at Mercyhurst University where he was a member of the 2015 team that went to the College World Series. After three successful seasons at Mercyhurst, Balego was selected in the 30th round of the 2017 MLB Draft becoming the first former Saint to be drafted. Last summer with the AZL Cubs, Balego batted .286 in 36 games, while also tallying 13 doubles for a team that won the AZL League Championship. At the beginning of the 2018 season, Balego was optioned to the South Bend Cubs, the A affiliate of the Chicago Cubs.
Drew Delsignore (Mercyhurst University)
The former Saint from 2015-2016, and MNE all-time homerun leader is currently the starting catcher at Mercyhurst. Last summer while playing in the Coastal Plains League, Delsignore set the single-season homerun record. Through 38 games this year, he is batting .320 with 12 doubles, three triples, and two home runs. The senior also has 24 RBI's, while throwing out 44% of attempted base stealers for the 13th ranked Lakers.
Kenny Robinson (Mercyhurst University)
The former Saint from 2016-2017 is currently in his first season at Mercyhurst. Robinson has appeared in 27 games for Lakers, while garnering 15 starts. He is currently hitting .244 while driving in 14 runs while seeing time in all three outfield spots.
Tommy Cannon (Allegheny College)
Cannon shined for the Saints from 2016-2017 and picked up right where he left off when he entered his first season with Allegheny this year. Through 36 games, Cannon ranks near the top of the conference in nearly every major statistical category. He is currently third in the NCAC in batting average at .424. Ranking ninth in hits with 53, and currently the leader in doubles with 18. His .552 OBP is also good for first in the conference. In addition, Cannon recently received Allegheny College's Male Newcomer of the Year Award at their annual athletics recognition ceremony.
Keyshawn D'Orso (Lock Haven University)
D'Orso was a member of the Saints in 2016 before continuing his career at Lock Haven University. This season, through 36 games, he is a key contributor for the Bald Eagles. His eight home runs are good for eighth in the PSAC, while also hitting .340 with 35 hits, six doubles, and 40 RBI's.
Other former Saints playing at the next level include Michael Montalbano (2015-2016) at Mercyhurst University, Dalton Donachie (2016-2017) at Allegheny College, and Pedro Peguero (2015-2015) at Lock Haven University.
